Rahul Dravid may become Team India Coach and Anil Kumble to become Team Director

Accoding to report there is going to be a major change in Team India. Rahul Dravid may become Team India Coach and Anil Kumble to become Team Director.

According to report, the ongoing series against Australia will be Kumble's last assignment as coach and he will take the new role as soon as April 14.

The BCCI Committee of Administrators (COA) led by former CAG Vinod Rai had a detailed discussion with head coach Kumble and assistant coaches R Sridhar and Sanjay Bangar. Kumble was asked to prepare a comprehensive report covering the the national team, women's cricket as well as junior cricket.

According to report, Kumble has been given time to think on the offer and if Jumbo decides take up the new job, Indian veteran Rahul Dravid may be elevated from the coach of the India A team to the head coach of the national side.

Accordig to BCCI, We need to move ahead with the times and that is why these structural changes are looked at. If it happens, Indian cricket will benefit, as one person will handle all the teams and there will be better coordination between all concerned. The plan is already in place and there is a strong possibility that when new contracts are given out, these changes will be made. It is too early to say whether Kumble will take up the role or not. Being the coach and team director (with new responsibility) is no easy thing as it needs a lot of dedicated time. The amount of cricket we play might burn him out. If he doesn’t, we need the back-up as we can’t let the team getting affected, particularly with the Champions Trophy coming up.
