Panneerselvam says he was forced to resign from TN chief minister’s post

In another twist to TN policts former TN chief minister Panneerselvam said he was forced to resign from TN chief minister’s post by VK Sasikala. He also said, They (Sasikala camp) were upset over my government's pro-active work in the aftermath of cyclone Vardah. Health minister C Vijayabaskar asked me to propose Sasikala's name for party general secretary, and I did after consulting senior ministers. Then several leaders, ministers started demanding that Sasikala be the chief minister. "All these made me lose peace. I was humiliated as ministers selected by me were making calls to make another person as CM. I have been patient so far. I was informed about legislature party meeting and MLAs were made to sign electing Sasikala as leader of the legislature party."

He also said, There have been doubts about Amma's death. We will constitute an inquiry committee. The committee will submit its report to the high court. It will be made public. I have been following the footsteps of Amma and I will continue to do so. A proper election must be held to elect the party general secretary. We now have a temporary general secretary, who was nominated under an extraordinary situation.
